Welcome To The Family Gaming Blog!
Hello readers!
Welcome to my new Family Gaming Blog!
I hope you are doing well and having a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, or late night! All depending on when you are reading this post!
I'm trying something new. I'm not really that great in blogging, but I'm willing to try and do my best. I already have one blog up that I haven't written for in a long while. It is a blog that is mainly just about any and everything. I believe the last time I posted anything there, was around Christmas and holidays. I do try to keep a schedule and post something, but sometimes life happens to where I don't get to it, I forget, or nothing of interest happened at all that would be worth posting about.
Now this blog, I figured I would make it a particular theme. Gaming. Family Gaming to be exact. My daughter has expressed how she wants to be a gamer/youtuber. So, I decided to support her in it. She's only seven years old at the moment this post is being written. I already had a YouTube channel that I didn't really do much with. In the beginning, I made it mainly so I can comment on videos I liked, as well as save videos into a playlist where I can just go back to it without having to search for it again. I never thought to post any videos at the time to it. Then in 2010, I decided to share a couple of videos. The first two I shared, were of decorations for Halloween and Christmas, that a friend put up at his house. That's when I decided to maybe share some random videos. Things that I came across that I thought was cool or interesting. Went a long time before I added any others.
In 2011, before I was with my husband, I would record his band practicing. I then posted some of those videos on my channel, and even added the information to the owner of the band so that if anyone was interested, they could contact them and maybe hire them. After a while, that band ended up having some members leave, and gotten new members, so those videos I took down. The band with some of the new members, actually would do really well, so I recorded their performances and made a sperate channel just for them. I even made a Facebook page just for them. Made a couple of the members moderators as well so they could post to it. Actually, did pretty good. Then around 2014, one of the members ended up being sent back to his country. Then there ended up being new members again, and creative differences. New name to the group, so once again, I took down the YouTube channel I made just for them, apart from mine, and the Facebook page. No need having those up, if they're not the same anymore. I was dating someone in the band for those years, before my husband, and we broke up. So, I didn't go to the new performances or anything like that. A month after, I started dating my husband. He had left the band due to creative differences. He's now with one of the original two members of the band from when I first met them. I haven't recorded any of them, because back in 2015, our house was broken into, and the camera I used to record had been stolen. We also have a child, so it makes it hard to be able to go to their performances to record. Once we get myself a new camera, then next time, we will probably have our daughter stay with her aunt, so I can go and record them maybe.
Then couple years later, I decided to just share some random videos. Especially, videos of mine and my daughter's adventures. Mainly so I can share some things that can be fun in the area. I would put hashtags, and add the location, so that if anyone coming to the area we were in, was to search things in the area and what to do, then our video may show up and they can see an idea of what to do in the area. Then afterwards, when my daughter decided she wants to be a gamer/youtuber, I decided to do more as well.
My channel is now a potpourri channel. Adventures, Gaming, and anything else of interest. I made an introduction video explaining it. Then me and my daughter played some games together. I would screen record on my laptop, and she would screen record on her iPad. Then once done, I took my video and her video, and edited them together and posted our first gaming moment together on my channel. I made it a point to try and post something every week. During the week, I would take my TikTok videos, and post them as shorts. I did well in the beginning with posting every week. It helped that I had already had some game plays I had saved from my switch. Then I ran out of those and would have to try and make sure to make some more videos. My daughter will sometimes forget to record on her iPad. Life would also happen sometimes to where I end up not being able to work on a video and post it. It's been a couple of weeks since I last made uploaded a video on YouTube. I do try to post my TikTok videos as shorts though.
I will try and do my best in keeping up with this blog as well. Bear with me. Like I said before, life happens sometimes to where you have to choose what's more important. For the YouTube channel, I may have to adjust my schedule and maybe post every two weeks. I will play around and see what works for me. I mean even the bigger YouTubers have to take breaks too. They may end up just doing reuploads.
I will end this on that note.
Once again, I welcome you to my blog. If you would like to check out my YouTube Channel, you can find it here at this link - https://youtube.com/@DarkOnyx98?si=Yg9VtWA2fURTlVii. Please don't judge by the profile picture. My daughter chose that since she knows I'm a fan of Sailor Moon. I will work on making a more personal that will work for both of us. Again, bear with me for here and for the channel.
I hope you have a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, or late night!
Until next time!
Take care!
Onyx!
